Moab, Utah Plein Air Workshop May 24-26, 2013

Plans are underway for an exciting 3 day workshop in and around Professor Canyon, just outside of Moab, UT. We will meet each day at 8:00 am for breakfast at the beautiful Red Cliffs Lodge, located at:

Mile Post 14 Route 128
Moab, Utah 84532
435-259-2002 | 866-812-2002

Then we will paint at three select areas along Scenic Byway Route 128, which hugs the Colorado River:

May 24: We will paint views of the Colorado River directly from the grounds of Red Cliffs Lodge.

May 25: We will paint sandstone cliffs, buttes and pinnacles in Castle Valley.

May 26: We will paint Fisher Towers, including the mighty 900 ft tall Titan -the largest free standing tower in the US.

Each day will start with a 30 minute demo. Additional short demos will be spaced throughout each day according to where the class is in the painting process – students will spend most of their day painting, rather than watching.

Tuition is $360. To facilitate easier air travel, all oil paints and odorless solvent will be provided. Students will need to bring their own transportable easels, brushes and painting panels, as well as a hiking lunch and plenty of drinking water.

Travel and lodging arrangements must be made by the individual student at any of the several hotels, motels and lodges in and around Moab Ut. Breakfast at Red Cliffs Lodge are priced: $10.50 for Friday and Saturday and $14.50 for Sunday brunch, and are not included with tuition.

To reserve your place in the workshop, a 50% deposit of $180 is required, with the rest due the morning of the first day of the workshop. Please send your check to Chris Kolupski, 1052 North Greece Rd, Rochester, NY 14626, noting: “Moab Workshop” on the check, along with your email address. Thereafter, a full supply list will be emailed to you. Please call 585 313 3543 or email if you have any additional questions.
